Canon Medical Systems USA has launched the Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system.

The Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition is an advanced system featuring all Canon-made components, including a real-time platform and Japan-made precision magnet technology.

The MRI system enhances imaging performance, improves operational workflow, and boosts patient comfort.

The Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition integrates Canon’s Altivity suite of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. This technology helps clinicians optimise image quality and reduce scan times.

According to Canon Medical Systems USA, integrating AI with MRI technology aims to address healthcare challenges and provide reliable performance in demanding clinical settings.

Canon Medical Systems USA MR business unit director Mark Totina said: “With the Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition, we’ve reimagined what’s possible in an MRI system.

“Our new real-time platform and AI-driven enhancements deliver high-quality imaging and operational efficiency, helping clinicians meet the diverse needs of patients and healthcare facilities today.”

The Vantage Galan 3T / Supreme Edition features Canon Medical Systems’ AI technologies, including the Advanced intelligent Clear-IQ Engine (AiCE) and Precise IQ Engine (PIQE). These innovations offer enhanced resolution and faster scans, improving productivity and diagnostic support.

The Japan-manufactured magnet ensures stable imaging with an expanded Field of View (FOV), providing healthcare professionals with a reliable diagnostic tool.

Canon Medical Systems USA is planning to showcase the MRI system at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) 2024 conference in Chicago, Illinois, in the coming days.

Based in California, the firm markets and services radiology and cardiovascular systems, including CT, MR, molecular imaging, ultrasound, X-ray, and interventional X-ray equipment.

The company is a subsidiary of Canon Medical Systems, which is owned by Japan-based Canon.

In a separate development, the imaging systems developer announced a new global lung cancer screening initiative.

The programme will advance lung cancer screening works, promote early detection, and lower lung cancer-related mortality.
