GE HealthCare has introduced the new Pristina Via mammography system to streamline technologist workflow and improve patient-centred breast care.
Pristina Via is designed to improve the screening experience for both technologists and patients.
The system, to be debuted at the Radiological Society of North America’s 2024 Annual Meeting, offers advanced tools for technologists. These tools enhance diagnostic accuracy and support fast workflows to deliver more patient-centred breast care.
GE HealthCare said that, despite the global shortage of technologists, the demand for mammograms from women remains steady. The company also highlighted the growing need for more efficient and intelligent workflows.
Pristina Via, the commercial name of the Senographe Pristina platform, introduces advanced features.
These features help reduce repetitive tasks and streamline workflows. This allows mammography technologists to focus on delivering quality, personalised care during the screening experience.
GE HealthCare women’s health and X-ray president and CEO Jyoti Gupta said: “Pristina Via represents a significant evolution in our patient focused Senographe Pristina platform which was designed by women for women.
“With the new in-room workflow, Pristina Via minimises laborious tasks and provides technologists with the gift of time to prioritise what matters most: compassionate, patient-centred care.”
The Pristina Via mammography system enhances in-room workflow and patient comfort by offering zero-click acquisition functionality for faster, seamless workflows.
There is no wait time between exposures, allowing technologists to work at their own speed.
GE HealthCare said that Pristina Via’s DBT image-to-image cycle time is up to twice as fast as other systems on the market.
It also features vendor-neutral prior image comparison, reducing the time spent analysing previous exams and enabling more efficient final assessments.
Additionally, the system uses the lowest radiation dose for all breast thicknesses compared to other major mammography systems.
The Pristina Via uses advanced features to streamline technologists’ workflows and deliver superior speed.
It also boasts a future-focused, scalable platform with full backward compatibility. This allows imaging centres to access the latest capabilities while offering flexibility to meet their evolving needs.
Supported by GE HealthCare service contracts and warranties, the screening system maintains an impressive 99% uptime, the medical technology company said.
Recently, GE HealthCare expanded its OEC 3D mobile cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) C-arm portfolio with new clinical applications.
