US-based medical device company Fusion Orthopedics has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of Metalogix external fixation systems.

Metalogix has already completed the transition of its operations, distribution, and hospital accounts to Fusion.

The latest addition expands Fusion’s advanced external fixation solutions, including Circular Static Frames, Dynamic Frames, Delta Frames, and the soon-to-be-released Mini-Rail System.

Fusion is now offering the Revolution EPS and Revolution Trauma products to all its current distributors and previous Metalogix distributors across the US.

Fusion Orthopaedics CEO Adam Cundiff said: “The Metalogix milestone is a symbol of Fusion’s commitment to dominance within Foot and Ankle as we continue to realise hyper-growth as a profitable business.”

Metalogix CEO Ben Coburn said: “Fusion Orthopedics shares our values and commitment to excellence, and I am confident they will achieve great things.”

Fusion Orthopedics president Nathan Peterson said: “The Metalogix devices align with Fusion’s dedication to provide ‘Everything Better’ in effort to improve patients’ lives.”

The Revolution EPS is a new generation of external fixation systems designed for long bone fractures, limb lengthening, and bone correction.

Its designs are engineered for strength and comfort, featuring an in-house open-back concept frame that improves limb access for surgeons and hospital staff.

The advanced frame design reduces swelling complications and allows for the use of smaller plates, enhancing stability.

Revolution EPS comprises the patented Revolution Cold Forged Wire Tips, which features a drill or flute configuration for easy insertion, reducing thermal necrosis.

The Cold Forged Tip Technology maintained precision sharpness over 50 uses, in testing.

Revolution EPS also comes with 180° Lockable Swivel Struts, which enable surgeons to attach one ring plate to another at any necessary angle to fit a specific patient’s limb.

The Revolution Trauma System is a part of the Revolution EPS that contains the Revolution T Multi-Pin Clamp and the Revolution T Z-Post.

The components use patented pin-to-pin super struts and a patented multi-pin clamp, allowing various configurations for surgical conditions like distal tibial and ankle fractures.

The struts can be directly attached to half-pins and assorted Steinmann Pins to simplify the frame assembly and can be adjusted and fine-tuned for micro-compression and distraction.

In addition, the multi-pin clamp can hold up to three half-pins, which can be inserted at a divergent angle or perpendicular to the bone.

Its 30° angled horns can be adjusted and locked to any desired angle a surgeon may need.
