US-based diagnostic and enterprise imaging solutions provider FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas Corp. has rolled out its advanced, open 0.4T MRI system, APERTO Lucent, in the US.
The new MRI system is powered by the company’s advanced permanent magnet technology and features a distinctive single-pillar design.
Its wide, laterally moving table complements the system’s open architecture to provide a comfortable patient experience, said the imaging solutions provider.
APERTO Lucent addresses current quality needs, and its RADAR motion compensates pulse sequence technology to reduce the need for rescans and minimises artifact impact on workflow.
The system allows RADAR sequences to be applied from the head to extremities, including the shoulder and cervical spine, where patient motion can particularly challenge the MRI exam.
Its CHESS-type RF Fat saturation complements STIR and Dixon-type FatSep sequences, providing a complete fat suppression capability, said FUJIFILM.
FUJIFILM Healthcare Americas modality solutions marketing executive director Shawn Etheridge said: “APERTO Lucent is a perfect solution for providers looking for a space-saving, cost-effective system that enhances the MRI patient experience.
“With permanent magnet open MRI technology, there is little need for additional equipment and infrastructure to maintain the magnetic field, keeping installation and operating costs low for our customers and providing a stronger return on investment.”
FUJIFILM said that its new MRI system features eight channels of active patient shimming, to provide the highest field uniformity for fat suppression and enhanced image quality.
The system promotes spatial resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) building on its solenoid technology RF receiver coils, IP-Recon, and iterative reconstruction algorithm.
IPRecon is used to mitigate image noise using a wavelet transform approach, which enables high-quality images under demanding resolution requirements.
In a separate development, FUJIFILM Healthcare Europe announced that the Detective Flow Imaging feature (DFI) technology is compatible with its EG-580UT endoscope.
The DFI technology was previously available only with the premium ARIETTA 850 FF Endo ultrasound system.
EG-580UT endoscope with DFI technology allows more physicians to experience clarity in motion during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, said the health technology company.
