Genova Diagnostics, a clinical laboratory services provider, has partnered with Neurocode to introduce the former’s Alzheimer’s Assessment test.
Alzheimer’s Assessment is a non-invasive blood test that uses the p-Tau217 biomarker to detect Alzheimer’s disease (AD) at an early stage.
The blood test uses the p-Tau217 biomarker to diagnose Alzheimer’s disease well before clinical symptoms emerge accurately. It also enables earlier intervention and management.
Compared to traditional cerebrospinal fluid and imaging tests, the test is less invasive, offering a more accessible and convenient option in the battle against AD, Genova Diagnostics claimed.
Genova Diagnostics CEO Jeff Ledford said: “Our partnership with Neurocode has enabled us to bring this state-of-the-art Alzheimer’s Assessment to the market.
“By combining our expertise in laboratory services with Neurocode’s cutting-edge neurological research, we can offer a test that significantly impacts the early diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.
“This is a significant step forward in our mission to provide innovative, science-based diagnostic services that improve patient outcomes.”
Genova Diagnostics aims to advance diagnostic innovation, equipping healthcare practitioners and individuals with essential tools for informed health decisions.
The company provides assessments that offer insights into various aspects of health, including gut health, nutrition, metabolic function, hormonal balance, and more, facilitating personalised healthcare.
Neurocode is a specialised clinical laboratory developing testing solutions for neurological disorders.
Neurocode CEO Roopa Reddy said: “Offering the pTau217 biomarker through partnership with Genova Diagnostics gives drastic accessibility to a larger segment of people that can now monitor amyloid activity in their brains with a simple blood draw.”
Last month, the clinical laboratory services provider introduced the Fatty15 Test, in collaboration with Seraphina Therapeutics, to assess pentadecanoic acid (C15:0) fatty acid.
The at-home Fatty15 Test, available through Genova Connect, uses a simple fingerstick blood sample to measure C15:0 levels. It offers insights into cellular health and guiding decisions on diet and supplements.
