4WEB Medical has introduced the Cervical Spine Truss System Integrated Plating Solution (CSTS-IPS), developed using its in-house Truss Implant Technology.

The CSTS-IPS implant contains a plate, mechanically attached to the interbody fusion device, to enable fixation and a stable environment that facilitates fusion.

Spine and Orthopedic Specialists’ spine surgeon Kris Parchuri Baylor Scott and White Medical Center spinal surgery director Jason Alder performed the first procedures using CSTS-IPS.

4WEB said the integrated plating solution is the latest addition to its portfolio of products, and the implant’s stand-alone construct is indicated for up to two contiguous disc levels.

Alder said: “4WEB’s new cervical implant with integrated plate provides an easy-to-use alternative to other standalone cervical implants.

“I was able to place the implant at an adjacent level to a previous multi-level cervical fusion without having to remove any hardware from the original construct.

“The integrated plate provides a more stable construct compared to a traditional standalone implant with screw or anchor fixation.”

Established in 2008 in Dallas, Texas, 4WEB Medical is an orthopaedic implant company developing truss implant designs for tumour, trauma, and patient-specific applications.

The company said that the cervical portfolio is currently its fastest-growing product line, and the launch of CSTS-IPS will continue its rapid growth in 2024 and beyond.

In addition to its integrated plating system, 4WEB is planning the commercial launch of its Cervical Spine Truss System with anchor fixation in Q3 this year.

Also, the orthopaedic implant maker is planning to introduce the anchor fixation function for its Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion devices in early Q4.

Parchuri said: “I was impressed with the simplicity and ease of use of 4WEB’s new integrated cervical plate solution. The plate has a low profile, which offers advantages over non-integrated plate alternatives.

“By adding a stand-alone, integrated cervical plate system to 4WEB’s existing product offering, the company continues to demonstrate its commitment to further development of an already comprehensive cervical portfolio.”
