Biotechnology company Kane Biotech has signed a five-year distribution agreement with North Carolina-based medical device company XSONX.
Under the agreement, Kane will distribute XSONX’s wound hygiene system in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The XSONX wound hygiene system is a cordless vibrational debridement tool. It is designed to clean and debrides chronic and contaminated wounds safely.
In June this year, MellingMedical, a service-disabled veteran-owned small business, announced an agreement to distribute XSONX’s tool to the Federal Healthcare Market.
Kane Biotech president and CEO Marc Edwards said: “The XSONX Wound Hygiene System is a proven contributor to chronic wound healing and will nicely complement Kane’s revyve product line.
“I’m excited about this opportunity to partner with XSONX and to make their debridement tool widely available to wound care professionals via our distribution network.”
The wound hygiene system device features HandHeld Vibrational Debridement Technology (HHVDT).
It reduces patient pain and anxiety by removing devitalised tissue and disrupting biofilm. This ensures more uniform debridement, a higher safety margin, and improved patient satisfaction compared to traditional methods.
Kane Biotech will introduce XSONX to Canadian practitioners at the Wounds Canada National Hybrid Conference. This will be alongside its revyve antimicrobial wound gel and revyve antimicrobial wound gel spray products.
Kane Biotech is engaged in the research, development and commercialisation of technologies and products that prevent and remove microbial biofilms.
In August, the company inked a three-year distribution agreement with Qatar Datamation Systems for its revyve gel in the Qatar wound care market.
