US-based remote cardiac data management company PaceMate has acquired Medtronic’s on-premises cardiac workflow solution, Paceart Optima system.

Paceart Optima collects, stores, and retrieves remote monitoring data from all top cardiac device manufacturers to effectively manage patients’ cardiac device data.

The system captures data from the implants, in-clinic checks and remote transmissions, stores it in the Paceart database and can send it to the patient’s EHR.

Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management unit will work closely with PaceMate to ensure a seamless transition and continue providing services for Paceart customers.

The acquisition is expected to expand PaceMate’s global reach with nearly 1,000 new clinic locations worldwide.

It is anticipated to enhance PaceMate’s ability to provide the newly acquired comprehensive cardiac remote monitoring solution, strengthening its position in cardiac data management.

Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management senior vice president and president Kweli Thompson said: “After a comprehensive evaluation, we are confident PaceMate is the best organisation to service Paceart customers and their future cardiac data workflow needs.

“PaceMate offers best-in-class cardiac data management solutions and will provide excellent ongoing support to Paceart customers.”

PaceMate offers an end-to-end platform, which supports all types of cardiac device types, including implantables, ambulatory monitors, heart failure devices, and remote patient monitors.

The platform is compatible with a complete suite of flexible solutions, including software, patient communications, and clinical service support.

PaceMate’s lead product, PaceMateLIVE, is an advanced remote cardiac monitoring software that uses powerful EHR integrations for easy implementation and intelligent patient prioritisation.

Its research-grade data set provides healthcare organisations with access to advanced tools for optimising clinic operations and patient-centric data to conduct breakthrough research.

PaceMate said the acquisition complements and strengthens its position in global cardiac care, enabling better patient outcomes and global innovation.

PaceMate CEO Tripp Higgins said: “Our shared values, dedication to customer experience, and commitment to exceptional patient-centric cardiac solutions make this agreement a perfect fit.

“Paceart customers will benefit from the continued support of Paceart employees transitioning to PaceMate, as well as enhanced service delivery and innovation.

“We are excited to set a new standard in the market by combining the strengths of both technologies for unparalleled support and advancement.”
