Germany-based optics and optoelectronics company ZEISS has entered a strategic partnership with AI pathology solutions provider Mindpeak
The collaboration aims to develop an integrated Multiplex Immunofluorescence (mIF) solution to support pathologists across research, diagnostics, and clinical applications.
ZEISS will leverage its advanced instruments and software, and Mindpeak its expertise in AI-based pathological image analysis, including its algorithms for clinical routine applications.
ZEISS Research microscopy solutions head Michael Albiez said: “This collaboration with Mindpeak marks a significant milestone in advancing workflows for translational and clinical pathology.
“Together, we are introducing an integrated solution that streamlines mIF workflows and improves reproducibility to meet the evolving needs of both translational research and clinical settings.
“By combining ZEISS’ imaging expertise with Mindpeak’s AI-driven analytics, we aim to enable researchers and clinicians to gain deeper insights with greater efficiency and precision.”
The two companies will integrate the existing complementary capabilities to enhance value for the users and expand their reach in the growing mIF market.
Their new pathology solution is expected to provide advanced mIF tools for scientific exploration, and personalised medicine initiatives.
It will enable the development of diagnostic (Dx) and companion diagnostic (CDx) and provide AI-powered tools for everyday pathological assessments.
Furthermore, ZEISS and Mindpeak will showcase their new mIF solution to pathologists and researchers at the ESSB (European Society for Molecular Biomarkers) Conference in Berlin.
Mindpeak CEO Felix Faber said: “Mindpeak’s established product portfolio of clinical AI algorithms, which currently supports pathologists in assessing immunohistochemistry (IHC), hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) stained slides, will be extended to mIF in this promising partnership.
“We are thrilled to combine our expertise in AI pathology with ZEISS’s instrumentation to create a streamlined workflow from slide to report for our customers.”
Earlier this year, ZEISS launched the arivis Pro version 4.2 software, designed to help researchers customise and select their choice of microscopy image analysis.
