Next-generation material for medical technology

German chemicals company Evonik has developed a new osteoconductive polyether ether ketone (PEEK) for the medical technology market, designed to improve the fusion between bone and implant. Alongside the introduction of the new biomaterial, the speciality chemicals company is launching a new product line of PEEK-based implant materials marketed under the brand name Vestakeep Fusion. Evonik unveiled the product at the virtual Eurospine conference, which was held in October.
